Second Medical Opinion

Provided by a team of world leading medical experts at Teladoc Health

Why and when might you need a second medical opinion?

Whether you have been diagnosed with a rare disease, need complex surgery, or require an invasive medical treatment, many questions may arise when facing a serious medical condition.

If you are uncertain about your diagnosis or treatment plan, you should consider requesting a second medical opinion from another physician to better understand your condition and the treatment options available to you.

Teladoc’s world-leading medical experts are here to help you review your diagnosis, explore all available treatment options, and support you throughout the process. Our medical experts will confirm or challenge your initial diagnosis and/or treatment plan for:

  • Complex medical conditions such as knee, joint, or back pain
  • Serious medical conditions such as cancer or tumors
  • High-risk treatments or surgeries
  • Invasive treatments or chronic diseases
  • Any medical concern that may be causing you worry...

Do not be afraid of offending your current doctor by requesting a second medical opinion. Having your diagnosis reviewed again could make all the difference.

How does it work?

You decide how you want us to contact you (phone or email) and complete the form. Your Personal GP Case Manager will then contact you to explain the process, which involves four steps:

  • 1Request a second medical opinion

Call us at any time to arrange your second medical opinion service. A dedicated General Practitioner will be assigned to guide you throughout the process.

  • 2Gather your medical documents

Our General Practitioners will contact you to discuss your situation in detail and explain which medical records and documents need to be collected.

  • 3Review of your medical file

A medical expert reviews the clinical information together with the details you provided during the initial call and identifies the key medical aspects.

  • 4Selection of the most appropriate specialist

Our team carefully selects the specialist best qualified in the area related to your condition.

  • 5Assessment of your case

The specialist reviews your case and supporting medical documentation. Once completed, you will receive a detailed report with recommendations regarding your diagnosis and treatment.

  • 6Review the report with a specialist

We will send you the report and contact you by phone to review the findings and recommendations in detail.

You can ask our doctors any questions about your health from the comfort of your own home.
